CONSTITUTION OF EXECUTIVE COUNCIL
Subject to the law, the bye laws and the resolution of the general meetings, the Executive management of the Society shall be vested in the Executive Council.

Officers of the Society and their Duties

  1. President:
    • The President shall preside over all General, Executive and Emergency meetings.
    • He shall have the power to convene meetings.
    • He shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Society.
  2. Vice President:
    • He/she shall act as the President when the incumbent is absent or when the position is vacant until a new one is elected.
    • He/she shall assist the President in the day-to-day running of the society.
  3. General Secretary:
    • He/she shall be responsible for the running of the Society's secretariat.
    • He/she shall summon Executive, General and Emergency meetings, Annual Conferences at the instance of the President.
    • He/she shall keep records of all meetings: up-to date prescribed Books and Registers of the activities of the society.
    • To prepare and submit to the Executive Council the Annual Accounts and Statements.
    • To certify copies of the entries in books.
  4. Assistant General Secretary:
    • He/She shall act as General Secretary in the absence of the incumbent or when the post becomes vacant until a new one is elected.
    • He/she shall assist the General Secretary in his various duties.
  5. Financial Secretary:
    • In addition to any other duties that may be assigned to him in the law, the Financial Secretary shall collect all contributions, donations, fees, levies and other monies meant for the society and ensure that all such collection are properly receipted.
    • He/she shall ensure that all payment/expenditure of the society are covered with payment voucher.
    • He/she shall prepare/maintain all relevant books of accounts for the society and make same available for inspection of the audit Committee as at when required.
    • He/she shall submit/read financial reports at the Annual General meetings as may be required.
  6. Treasurer:
    • In addition to any other duties that may be assigned to him in the law and regulations the Treasurer shall take charge of all monies received by the society and deposit same in the, Society's bank account within 48 hrs of receipt.
    • He shall make disbursement in accordance with the directive of the Executive Council.
    • He shall sign the cash book and all members’ Pass books and produce the cash balance as at when required by the Executive Council, the Registrar or his representatives, the Audit Committee and at every general meeting.
    • He shall maintain imprest account as may be approved by the Executive Council.
  7. Public Relations Officer:
    • He shall liaise with the various Mass Media (radio, TV, Newspaper etc) with a view to publicizing the activities of the Society.
    • He shall disseminate all information of the Society to its members and the General public (i.e Notice of Meetings, AGMs and other such programmes).
  8. Ex-Officio Members: This shall consist of the immediate past President and General Secretary of the Society and their role shall be purely advisory.

Disqualification of members of the Executive Council
A member of the Executive Council shall cease to hold office if he/she:

  1. ceases to be a member of the society;
  2. becomes of unsound mind;
  3. becomes guilty of embezzlement of the Society's funds;
  4. becomes financially embarrassed (bankrupt);
  5. becomes a paid officer of the society;
  6. acts in a manner prejudicial to the interest of the Society and
  7. voluntarily resigns his/her office.
