ELIGIBILITY OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership of the society shall be open to members of staff of the University, their spouses and non-University Staff who:

  • Are of good character.
  • Spouses who are desirous of membership of the society shall be formally introduced by their partners who should be current members of staff of the University.
  • Ordinarily resident in Kaduna and its neighboring states.
  • But a member who relocates from this field of operation of the society may retain his membership therein, but may not borrow there from in excess of his savings.
  • Must have attained maturity age (18 years and above) except in the case of a minor heir of a deceased member and where the Chief Registrar grants exception from this qualification.
  • Every member on admission shall sign or thumb print the Members Attendance Register.
  • Islamic tenets shall govern the Society as enshrine in the Bye-law and determined from time to time; only KASU Muslim members shall be eligible to hold Executive and Committee(s) positions.
  • Non KASU staff member could become a member provided he is guaranteed and introduced by his/her respective organizations.
  • 3-persons that are deemed to be of impeccable character and highly respected one of which must be a KASU Majlis Co-Operative Investment and Credit Society Limited member must introduce a non KASU staff before he/she is registered.
  • Individual with private business can also be a member provided such individual complies with the previous condition above.
